Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join Ophthalmology's Cataract and Refractive Surgery Division and help lead the operations of a dynamic, high-volume practice!

As Clinic Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day administrative operations, support and develop a team of administrative professionals, and help ensure a seamless experience for both patients and providers. From managing schedules and clinic workflows to overseeing insurance authorization processes, you will play a key role in keeping the practice running efficiently.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide staff performance, foster a positive and collaborative team environment, and support patient access to care. You will also oversee surgical scheduling activities, provide patient education regarding procedures and preparation requirements, serve as a backup Surgery Coordinator when needed, and assist with front office operations during busy periods. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who enjoys problem-solving, team development, and making a meaningful impact on the patient experience.

Salary Range: $$31.51-$62.64 Hourly


Job Qualifications


Required:
  • Familiarity with computerized patient appointment scheduling and registration systems.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience, including organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives, training staff, and evaluating staff effectiveness.
  • Ability to follow-through with tasks under minimal supervision and ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to organize and maintain patient records efficiently.
  • Ability to perform under the stress of frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively coordinate the patient care activities of the practice.


Highly Desirable:
  • Familiarity with surgery scheduling systems, preferably with UCLA systems / CareConnect or ophthalmology, or both.
  • Working knowledge of current third party payor systems including managed care and governmental programs; familiarity with current patient billing practices.
  • Working knowledge of ophthalmology terminology.
  • Experience managing patient care activities in a medical practice.
