Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision and support to Interns and license-eligible staff as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Coordinates or provides Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services training, and other related staff development activities.
Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides Clinical Supervision for license-eligible Clinicians and Master’s-level Interns per BBS standards.
• Assures that documentation is timely, clinically appropriate, and meets contract, licensing, certification and other required standards.
• Required to co-sign supervisee documentation as needed.
• Required to interface with Clinical Trainee schools, Professors and Staff, online portals to evaluations, sign clinical hours, and other required documentation as needed in order to fulfill internship requirements.
• Provides consultation and guidance to line staff in addressing client management, Crisis Intervention, Licensure, and emergencies to ensure adherence to professional standards and policies.
• Ensure client confidentiality and privacy, including client records.
• Ensures staff compliance with program processes including Charting/Documentation, Billing, and Q&A.
• Provide direct service to clients and engage directly in de-escalation and crisis situations with clients, as needed.
• Contributes to the development of client-sensitive policies and procedures supporting the delivery of programs and services.
• Coordinates or provides substance abuse and mental health services training, and other related staff development activities.
• Prepares necessary reports and records as requested.
• Serves as a resource and demonstrates collaboration across assigned programs to ensure client continuity of care.
• In collaboration with Program Managers, assures coordination and collaboration among all programs and services, and provides support to an integrated case-management approach to client services.

• Maintains familiarity with BHS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations. Performs job duties accordingly.

Clinical Supervisor Competencies and Performance Expectations the Clinical Supervisor is expected to:
• Experience in the provision of clinical supervision, delivering individualized and appropriate supervision to supervisees.
• Take part in clinical training of treatment staff.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
• Possess basic knowledge of referrals, both in and out of the BHS treatment system.
• Have an understanding of, and ability to use job-related computer operations including site network, Microsoft 365 suite of programs and applicable Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Maintain ongoing professional growth to facilitate job performance.
• Ensure quality practices and procedures. •

• Perform all job duties in keeping with professional standards and ethics and in a timely manner
