Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Specialist / Stroke Rater based in India.

This part-time, remote role supports clinical research focused on stroke and patient outcomes.
You will administer validated clinical assessments and help ensure that ratings are accurate, consistent, and aligned with study protocols.
The role combines direct assessment work with structured reviews of other raters’ evaluations.
You will participate in live discussions, provide constructive feedback, and help maintain strong inter-rater reliability.
Your expertise will contribute to high-quality clinical trial data and the consistent application of standardized assessment methods.
The position offers a flexible workload of approximately 2–12 hours per month, depending on project requirements.
It is well suited to an experienced clinical professional with stroke expertise who values precision, collaboration, and meaningful contributions to medical research.

Accountabilities:

    • Administer standardized stroke-related assessments to clinical trial participants, including EQ-5D-5L interviewer-administered and Proxy 1 versions and the Modified Rankin Scale (mRS).
    • Review assessments completed by other raters to evaluate accuracy, consistency, and adherence to study protocols.
    • Conduct live interactions with raters to discuss scoring methodology, provide feedback, and reinforce appropriate assessment techniques.
    • Participate in training, orientation, calibration, and certification activities to maintain consistency across clinical assessments.
    • Prepare thoroughly for rater discussions by reviewing case information, assessment results, and relevant study documentation.
    • Complete scheduled rater interactions and submit required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
    • Support mock interviews, functional assessments, and other activities designed to evaluate and improve rater performance.
    • Maintain a high standard of clinical judgment, documentation quality, and protocol compliance throughout all assigned activities.
    • Requirements:

      • Master’s degree (MA/MS) in Medicine, Neurology, Psychology, or a related clinical or healthcare discipline.
      • MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent advanced clinical qualification is preferred.
      • At least 1 year of clinical experience working with stroke patients.
      • Previous experience administering stroke-related rating scales within clinical trials or comparable research settings.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in administering and interpreting EQ-5D-5L and mRS assessments.
      • Strong understanding of standardized clinical assessment methods, scoring consistency, and protocol adherence.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to clinical raters and trial staff.
      • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time-management abilities.
      • Fluency in an Indian language and the ability to communicate effectively in professional clinical settings.
      • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting scheduled commitments and documentation requirements.
