AGENCY OVERVIEW

Since our founding in 1895 in Marin County as an orphanage – and through subsequent years as Sunny Hills Services – Side by Side has been at the forefront of best practices in child welfare, working with the most vulnerable youth in our community. Today, Side by Side operates in four counties – Marin, Alameda, Sonoma, and Napa – across the Bay Area, reaching nearly 2,000 children, young adults, and family members per year with much-needed services related to behavioral and mental health, early intervention in schools, LGBTQIA+ support, transitional housing for foster youth, and special education.

COMPENSATION

This position has a salary range of $103,000 to $118,000 depending on years of clinical experience and bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills.

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for service integration and quality of clinical services delivered by the Clinicians. Duties include oversight of the implementation of quality, comprehensive, individualized, strengths-based, and culturally competent treatment in the community and school in keeping with the agency philosophy. The Clinical Supervisor will also provide coverage as needed when one of their supervisees is out. Duties will include attending Leadership forum, North Bay Clinical leadership meetings, Line of Sight meetings, county level meetings and other pertinent meetings related to the role.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

Community Counseling

From short term, intensive crisis intervention to longer term case management and family support, Community Counseling clinical services are individualized and include home, office, and community-based support. Informed by a holistic understanding of the young person’s history and strengths, Community Counseling supports the development of coping skills and strategies to help the family function more effectively and the young person attain stability and a sense of personal agency.

Our Space

Our Space is a vibrant safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-24 in Alameda County. For many young people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or questioning, it can feel like no place is safe. LGBTQIA+ young people experience significantly higher rates of harassment and abuse – as well as poverty, homelessness, and involvement in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems – than their straight peers. Our Space provides that much-needed safe harbor where LGBTQIA+ youth can express their authentic selves and feel seen, accepted, and celebrated.

Real Alternatives

Real Alternatives offers a continuum of transitional housing opportunities for current and former foster youth and/or those on probation ages 18 to 24. We provide an apartment for youth to call home and often support especially vulnerable populations, including commercially sexually exploited youth, parenting and pregnant youth, and LGBTQIA+-identified youth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS

• Provide and document group and individualized supervised hours for licensure and clinical oversight
• Responsible for assuring timely submission of Medi-Cal and School based billing co-signatures
• Review and approve Treatment Plans, assessments and other reports by all supervisees, this includes CANS/PSC and other relevant documents around clinical care.
• Support, guide and oversee The Joint Commission compliance standards and alignment with agency policies, practices and procedures.
• Ensure culturally sensitive and relevant treatment
• The Clinical Supervisor actively supports and implements a strength-based, culturally competent, client-centered approach to working with Clinicians
• Review and approve treatment plans, assessments, and other reports by all supervisees.
• Participating in external and in-services trainings relevant to the program services.
• Participate in leadership meetings and leadership activities throughout the region and agency.
• Provide on-call support after hours for the clinical team
• Provide supervision coverage across the agency as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have either LCSW, LMFT or LPCC license for a minimum of five years and be able to provide BBS supervision.
• A valid California driver's license, dependable personal automobile for use on the job, insurable by SBS’s insurance policy based on DMV record and personal vehicle insurance.
• Minimum of 2 + years’ experience as a Clinical Supervisor required.
• Experience providing direct services work, at different levels of service, such as specialty mental health or other county level behavioral services preferred.
• Bilingual/Bicultural preferred.
• Fulfillment of TB clearance, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
