  • Ensure clinical services comply with clinical governance frameworks, professional standards, contractual obligations, legislation and relevant policies.
  • Promote quality, safety, equity, access, continuity of care and positive member experiences across clinical service delivery.
  • Monitor and report progress, performance, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating concerns and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Support change management, staff education, training, communications and evaluation of clinical service outcomes.
  • Engage with the Principal Clinical Lead, GM Clinical Operations and Governance, Defence stakeholders, clinical SMEs, Operations, Contracting, Projects, Clinical Governance teams and external partners to maintain alignment and support effective service delivery.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Minimum 8 years of substantial clinical practice experience and 5+ years in clinical service delivery or healthcare management.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical service design, models of care, clinical pathways, quality improvement or service implementation.
  • Experience in project, program, service design or change management, ideally within Defence healthcare or complex, multidisciplinary, contracted or geographically dispersed healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, quality and safety, and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Sound professional judgement, systems thinking, problem-solving and commercial awareness, with the ability to translate requirements into practical operational processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, detailed reporting, recommendations and implementation documentation.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant clinical discipline, such as Nursing, Allied Health, Pharmacy or another health field, with current unrestricted AHPRA registration or relevant professional accreditation where applicable.
