Clinical Research Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Paramedic - Early Phase Clinical Trials (Multiple Shifts Available)

Location: Daytona Beach, FL

Schedule Options:

Option 1: Rotating Shift

• 10-hour shifts
• Rotating weekends to include a 12-hour shift

Option 2: Mid Shift

• 10-hour shifts
• Start time between 11am and 1pm
• Rotating weekends to include a 12-hour shift

Option 3: Night Shift

• Monday–Friday: 10‑hour shifts
• 9pm - 7:30am
• Rotating weekends to include a 12-hour shift (7pm - 7:30am)

As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we operate four Early Phase Clinical Research Units across the UK and US. We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research LPN or Paramedic to support the execution of innovative Early Phase clinical trials, ensuring participant safety and protocol accuracy.

This role is ideal for nurses who prefer rotating shifts or night work, value schedule transparency, and thrive in a focused clinical research environment.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality care to trial participants using your clinical judgment and nursing expertise.
• Monitor participant well-being, document adverse events, and respond to emergencies.
• Administer investigational compounds and perform study-related procedures (ECGs, telemetry, venipuncture, etc.).
• Collect and process biological samples, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• Associate’s or BS degree in Nursing with current state licensure.
• CPR/AED/ACLS certification.
• Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
• Paramedic, EMT, LVN, or LPN.
• 2–3 years of related experience.
• State-licensing or certification as a Paramedic.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• A passion for learning and adaptability to a structured rotating schedule.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
• Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel.
• Exposure to biological fluids.
• Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 10-12 hours per day.
• Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment.
• Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
• Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
• Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Varied hours may be required.
