Clinical Research Coordinator - Internal Medicine (All of Us)

Job Family Group:

Professional StaffThe Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) supports the All of Us Research Program (AoURP) by coordinating pediatric participant enrollment and research activities across The University of Kansas Health System, the University of Kansas Medical Center, community outreach events, and local enrollment centers. The CRC coordinates participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, biospecimen collection, data documentation, protocol compliance, and quality assurance activities. The CRC collaborates with research teams, physician champions, investigators, and healthcare staff to execute research protocols and support participant engagement.

The All of Us Research Program–Heartland Consortium (AoURP-HC) is part of a national research initiative led by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) focused on advancing precision medicine. Through partnerships among academic medical centers, healthcare systems, and community organizations across the Heartland region, the program collects health information and biospecimens from participants to support research on biological, environmental, behavioral, and social factors that influence health and disease.

Job Duties

  • Educate participants, evaluate eligibility, and recruit families for the research program under the direction of program leadership.

  • Conduct recruitment outreach activities to engage potential participants through community-based events, enrollment locations, and other approved outreach activities.

  • Maintain source documents and submit case report forms (CRFs).
    Recognize and report adverse events and serious adverse events to the supervisor, Principal Investigator, FDA, and sponsors.

  • Perform protocol-required research procedures within scope of practice, including biospecimen collection, processing, handling, and shipping in accordance with protocol and institutional requirements.

  • Maintain study supplies and materials.

  • Prepare documentation and participate in monitoring visits, reviews, and audits.

  • Provide written and verbal reports to the Principal Investigator and senior leadership.

  • Conduct quality assurance activities by reviewing medical records, clinical data, and study documentation to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and FDA regulations.

  • Collaborate with institutional research teams and administrative partners to follow KUMC research policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Perform on-site work at the KU Medical Center Campus and local enrollment centers.

  • Attend outreach events in the greater Kansas City area;

  • Work flexible hours depending on the assigned program role, including occasional weekend and evenings.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Four (4) years of experience in health sciences, nursing, or related field. Relevant education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Two (2) years clinical research experience.

  • Experience working within clinical research regulatory requirements, including CFR, GCP, and HIPAA.

  • Experience interpreting regulatory guidance and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Four (4) years of clinical research experience.

  • Research experience with pediatric populations and community-based participants.

  • Experience with electronic medical records.

  • Experience with biospecimen collection and processing.

  • Experience with basic health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, height, weight, circumference measurements).

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
