The Department of Surgery is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support the research functions in Dr. Gurtner's lab. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be well-organized, and be highly motivated. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with others within the laboratory. The clinical research candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple ongoing clinical trials in Dr. Gurtner’s lab, focusing on wounding healing, regenerative medicine, and advanced therapeutic interventions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with promotion/recruitment of research participants.
  • Maintain retention by following up with participants in long-term clinical trials.
  • Gather consent forms for approval by Human Subjects Panel.
  • Complete study data entry in various electronic data systems.
  • Update recruitment and screening materials, compliance forms and tracking documents.
  • Under direction of the PI and Senior lab members, assist with new protocol submissions, renewals, and revisions to Institutional Review Board (IRB) for multiple studies.
  • Support the IRB process by gathering required documentation and assist with maintaining compliance.
  • Analyze trends and data in recruitment and assure there is a limited number of competing trials.
  • Make recommendations for a variety of options within a trial.
  • Track physician regulatory compliance.

Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of study protocols and schedule of activities.
  • Ability to analyze trends and data in recruitment and assure there is a limited number of competing trials.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of related work experience.
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • Spanish fluency.
