Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Coordinator I applies state-of-the-art integrated PET and MRI and/or PET and CT imaging methods. Responsibilities include acquiring and analyzing data, administrative coordination, and working with different chronic pain patient populations.

The incumbent prepares interim and annual reports, as well was reports of completed projects for publication in technical journals, presentations at professional field meetings/conferences, and for use in further applied or theoretical research activities.

The goal of this research project is to evaluate the role of brain inflammation in the establishment and/or maintenance of persistent pain disorders.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit and screen patients suffering from pain disorders.
  • Act as a point of contact and study resource for participants.
  • Administer tests and questionnaires.
  • Prepare weekly updates on the study progress and troubleshoot study operations.
  • Coordinate with Martinos Center staff to set up participants in the scanning environment.
  • Operate the combined MRI-PET scanner at the Martinos Center.
  • Maintain research data, study files, regulatory binders, and study databases.
  • Perform data analysis and QA/QC data checks.
  • Prepare interim reports for granting agencies (e.g., NIH) and assist on manuscripts of completed projects for publication in technical journals, presentations at professional field meetings/conferences, and for use in further applied or theoretical research activities.
  • Assist PI in preparing and completing study reports and annual reviews.
  • Processing and analysis of brain imaging data collected from the studies noted above.
  • Assist in the hiring process of CRC and undergraduate intern candidates.
  • Handle biospecimen (e.g., blood, saliva, urine) with proper training.

  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
