Kennedy Krieger Institute offers more than 55 outpatient clinics, home and community programs, education, research, pediatric neurobehavioral and rehabilitation/feeding inpatient units and a day hospital.

This position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, hours are flexible and hybrid schedule. Must be available to work outside of normal working hours as needed. Must be able to travel in a reliable personal vehicle to and from different locations and sites within Maryland, approximately 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • · Strategically develops, establishes, nurtures, and maintains positive relationships with referral customers, including patients and families, hospital/health system partners, payors, and business customers.
  • · Build and sustain external relationships with physicians, Nurse Practitioners (NPs)/Physician Assistant (Pas), school systems, therapists, and community programs through regular outreach, visits, and issue resolution to increase referral volume and conversion.
  • · Partner with Kennedy Krieger program leaders and clinical operations teams to manage access and close care gaps; coordinate transitions between programs and community resources.
  • · Educate the provider community by delivering in-service trainings, conducting tours and presentations, represent programs at community and professional events, collaborate with the Public Relations and Marketing department/External Relations on targeted campaigns and materials.
  • · Capture and share referent feedback/market intelligence to inform program improvements and new business opportunities.
  • · Serve as a clinical expert for insurance and partner with the Patient Access and Finance departments to understand referral-related financial implications and insurance considerations.
  • · Maintain accurate records of outreach, referrals, and outcomes in approved systems (e.g., Electronic Medical Record (EMR), referral trackers/Customer Relationship Management (CRM), report trends, pipeline, and conversion metrics.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN or enrolled in a BSN program to be completed within 2 ½ years of hiring date.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of care management experience in a hospital care setting. Demonstrated client services/relationship management and/or outreach/marketing experience in healthcare settings is required.

License: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license from Maryland or a compact state.

Certification: Current CPR certification that included hands on skills.

Related case management, quality assurance, or utilization review certification preferred.

USD $71,518.51/Yr.

Maximum pay range
