Job Description

Responsible for promoting and supporting a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement within the hospital. This role focuses on enhancing patient outcomes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving data-driven initiatives to improve healthcare delivery.

Job Responsibility

  • Demonstrates expertise in Performance Improvement methodologies used throughout the organization.
  • Maintains current knowledge of best practices, regulations, and advancements in healthcare quality, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Participates in the preparation of Performance Improvement reports for care services presentation at committee meetings, and facilitates reporting to Hospital Quality Management for external benchmarking as needed.
  • Assists in conducting focused studies to measure and assess the stability of patient care processes and the achievement of patient outcomes and organizational goals.
  • Assists in coordinating investigations of state reportable incidents, complaints, sentinel events, and citations, ensuring thorough data collection for corrective actions.
  • Participates in special projects related to quality and patient safety issues; assists in developing recommendations and coordinating the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Prepares monthly variance reports for leadership, physicians, and other hospital personnel as needed.
  • Presents patient-specific issues and concerns to appropriate leadership and Performance Improvement Committees to drive resolution.
  • Utilizes various office technologies and data analysis tools to perform job functions, including the creation of documents for formal presentations and reports.

Job Qualification

  • BSN nursing degree, required. Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse OR as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State OR current Licensed Registered Physician Assistant by New York State Department of Education, required.
  • One-three (1-3) years clinical experience including general knowledge of QM principles, NYPORTS and TJC requirements.
