United Kingdom (Remote)

Reporting to: Director of Clinical Operations

Remuneration: £65,000 per annum- plus £1000 working from home allowance

Contract Type: Permanent/ Full time - 40hours per week

Location: Home-based/various UK meeting locations as required

The Clinical Quality & Governance Lead plays a key role within our ADHD Titration Service, providing dedicated leadership and oversight across clinical quality, governance, complaints, incidents, audit and continuous improvement.

The post holder will ensure that concerns, complaints, incidents, audit findings and patient feedback are effectively reviewed and investigated, with learning translated into meaningful and sustainable improvements. Working closely with clinical and operational colleagues, they will help ensure the delivery of safe, effective and consistently high-quality patient care.

A key focus of the role will be to develop and embed a strong learning framework across the ADHD Titration Service, using insight and emerging themes to drive improvement, strengthen practice and promote a culture of openness, accountability and shared learning.

This is a home-based role, and applicants must reside in the UK. Occasional travel may be required to attend face-to-face meetings at locations across the UK.

As our Clinical Quality & Governance Lead, you will:

Quality Assurance & Improvement

  • Lead quality improvement activity across the ADHD Titration Service, identifying opportunities to strengthen patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience.
  • Develop, implement and monitor quality improvement plans in partnership with clinical and operational teams.
  • Use quality data, patient feedback and service insights to identify emerging themes, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing development of quality frameworks, ensuring alignment with Psychiatry UK’s clinical governance standards.
  • Ensure improvement activity is measurable, sustainable and embedded into clinical practice.

Clinical Governance

  • Lead and embed Titration-specific governance processes, ensuring alignment with Psychiatry UK’s wider clinical governance framework.
  • Coordinate Titration governance meetings, ensuring effective oversight of risks, incidents, complaints, audits and improvement actions.
  • Maintain clear oversight of governance actions, ensuring appropriate ownership, escalation and timely completion.
  • Work closely with the Quality & Safety Team and clinical leadership to provide appropriate reporting, escalation and assurance.

Incident Management & Learning

  • Provide oversight and coordination of incident management across the ADHD Titration Service.
  • Support the effective investigation and review of incidents, ensuring contributory factors, learning and required actions are clearly identified.
  • Monitor resulting actions through to completion and ensure learning is embedded into practice.
  • Identify recurring themes and emerging risks, escalating these through appropriate governance channels.
  • Promote a just and learning culture that encourages openness, reflection and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure learning from incidents is effectively communicated across the service through governance forums, team communications and training.

Complaints & Patient Experience

  • Act as the clinical lead for complaints relating to the ADHD Titration Service, working closely with the Complaints Team to support effective and timely resolution.
  • Coordinate clinical reviews and investigations, ensuring appropriate input is obtained from relevant clinicians and stakeholders.
  • Provide clinical oversight and assurance of complaint responses, ensuring they are accurate, evidence-based and reflective of expected standards of care.
  • Analyse complaints and patient feedback to identify themes, recurring issues and emerging areas of risk.
  • Ensure learning is translated into meaningful service improvements and shared across relevant clinical and operational teams.
  • Maintain oversight of actions arising from complaints and support their timely completion and implementation.

Audit & Compliance

  • Develop and coordinate a programme of clinical audit across the ADHD Titration Service, informed by identified risks, quality priorities and service requirements.
  • Support clinical teams to undertake audits, analyse findings and develop appropriate improvement actions.
  • Monitor compliance against agreed clinical standards, policies and governance requirements, identifying areas requiring further support or intervention.
  • Track audit actions through to completion and evaluate whether improvements have been successfully embedded.
  • Support clinical teams to maintain evidence-based practice and consistently high standards of care.

Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills. You will be confident working across multidisciplinary teams, able to influence and engage stakeholders, manage competing priorities and use data and insight to support sound decision-making. You will bring a proactive, evidence-based approach and a clear commitment to patient safety, learning and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Registered healthcare professional with current professional registration.
  • Significant experience within healthcare quality, clinical governance and/or service improvement.
  • Experience of incident management, investigation and embedding learning.
  • Experience managing healthcare complaints, including investigation, response preparation and identification of learning.
  • Experience analysing incidents, complaints, patient feedback and other quality data to identify themes, trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience supporting clinical audit and quality improvement activity.
  • Experience working within mental health or specialist healthcare services and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and incident management principles.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and information governance requirements.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Additional qualification or training in quality improvement, clinical audit, governance or leadership.
  • ADHD prescribing experience.
  • Experience within digital healthcare services.
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections or external quality reviews.
  • Experience developing governance reporting, dashboards, learning frameworks or improvement programmes.
  • Experience using recognised quality improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience delivering quality improvement training or shared learning.
