UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring a Clinical Psychologist to join our Center for Reproductive Health Clinic. This opportunity is a part-time (0.5FTE 20 hours a week) day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

*Sign-on Bonus Available*

Minimum $103,756 - Midpoint $132,228*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

The Clinical Psychologist provides evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation for individuals and families experiencing reproductive health concerns, with a specialized focus on early pregnancy loss, fetal anomalies resulting in pregnancy termination, and abortion care. The psychologist works as an integral member of a multidisciplinary reproductive health team, delivering trauma-informed, patient-centered care. The role includes counseling, crisis intervention, warm hand offs, interdisciplinary collaboration, education, and program development to support patients navigating complex reproductive decisions and pregnancy outcomes.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Clinical Psychologist:

Doctorate degree in Psychology, and completion of Pre-doctoral Clinical Internship with at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. State of NM Licensed Psychologist, or eligibility for NM licensure, as documented by out-of-state licensure. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Provide brief psychological assessments, interventions and evidence-based psychotherapy for Patients experiencing:

• Early pregnancy loss (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy)
• Recurrent pregnancy loss
• Pregnancy termination (elective and medically indicated)
• Fetal anomalies and life-limiting fetal diagnoses.
• Perinatal grief and bereavement.
• Conduct crisis assessment and intervention for patients experiencing acute emotional distress.
• Support patients through reproductive decision-making using non-directive, culturally responsive counseling approaches.

• Assist with development of integrated BH pathways within reproductive services.
• Connect patients with community resources, peer support groups and specialized mental health services.
• Develop educational materials for patients and families, as needed.
• Deliver staff training on trauma-informed care and compassionate communication.
• Participate in clinical research related to reproductive mental health.
• Participate in QI initiatives and outcomes evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Clinical Psychologist:

1. Diagnoses or evaluates mental and psychological disorders of individuals and administers programs of treatment; interviews patients in clinics, hospitals, and other settings and studies medical and social case histories.
2. Observes patients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological assessments to diagnose mental disorders and formulate plans of treatment. Provides consultation to other health professionals with regard to assessment results.
3. Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, couples, and family therapies.
4. Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
5. Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
6. Provides crisis assessment and intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological support.
7. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, staff meetings and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques.
8. May instruct and direct psychology students, interns, and postdoctoral trainees serving practicum, internships, and postdoctoral experiences in hospitals and clinics.
9. Provides psychological consultations to other health professionals within hospitals, clinics, and other community based agencies with regard to clients and/or patient care.
10. Provides backup coverage to other behavioral health providers as needed.
11. May develop and implement clinical research programs.
12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
