Job Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery, is searching for a part-time (20% effort) Clinical Professor. The appointee will build a practice with a primary focus in wound care management, use of multilayer compression wraps, skin substitute grafting, negative pressure wound therapy, wound debridement and limb salvage. The practice location for this position will primarily be at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Additionally, the appointee will focus on improving hyperbaric medicine treatments as needed. We do not expect this appointee to take calls.

Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits ineligible.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible with the American Board of General Surgery or equivalent.

We especially welcome applicants who have completed an accredited fellowship training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine, prior experience with complex wound management, and experience with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
