About the Position

Harris Health System is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Infectious Diseases) to join the Correctional Health team In this role, you will provide advanced clinical pharmacy services, ensuring optimal and cost-effective medication management for patients.

You will participate in multi-disciplinary rounds, deliver direct patient care, and support clinical initiatives. This role also includes educating pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare providers, as well as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy interns, technicians, and residents The position requires a strong commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Doctor of Pharmacy ( PharmD)
  • Licensure/Certification
    • Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
    • Must obtain Texas licensure within 90 days if new graduate or reciprocity applicant
    • ACPE IV Sterile Certification required
    • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification required
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years clinical pharmacy experience
    • OR completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 or PGY2 residency program
  • Communication Skills
    • Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
    • Strong written communication (reports)
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in MS Word and computer applications
  • Knowledge/Skills
    • Analytical and research skills
    • Medical terminology
    • Statistical and mathematical knowledge
    • Clinical design and problem-solving abilities
