Job Description

$25k Sign-On Bonus
* Bachelor's degree required from an accredited school of Respiratory Care required.
* Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of New Jersey.
* BLS is required.
* Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist Certification is required within two years of date of hire or transfer.
* Minimum 5-7 years acute respiratory care in a hospital setting required.
* Solid understanding of Blood Gas CAP regulatory requirements, Respiratory Care Quality& PI, organizational vision and values; strong interpersonal, communication and management skills required.

Under the administrative direction of the Respiratory Care Operations Director and the medical direction provided by the Medical Director, Respiratory Care Services, the Clinical Operations Manager for Pulmonary and Blood Gas Labs is responsible for providing administrative, technical and clinical direction for Respiratory Care Services.
The Clinical Operations Manager oversees and manages the blood gas lab and pulmonary lab operations for adult and pediatric respiratory care. The Clinical Operations Manager ensures that all programs, practices, policies and procedures defining the provision of patient care and scope of practice for Respiratory Care Services are consistent with the Medical Center's policies, goals, and quality standards. The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for ongoing regulatory compliance and is accountable for participating and representing RCS on Medical Center Committees as applicable, in surveys conducted by accrediting and regulatory agencies, presenting supporting data and documents required by reviewers and providing timely follow up including any action plans determined as necessary for compliance. The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for promoting employee engagement opportunities and performance improvements for respiratory, pulmonary lab and blood gas lab.
The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for planning and improving patient satisfaction, employee training and development, achieving industry leading quality standards and cutting edge clinical programs. The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for the direction and oversight of the Respiratory Care Department, Blood Gas Lab, and Pulmonary Services Lab in the Respiratory Care Director's absence. This position assists with resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, monitoring budgetary practices, preparing staff schedules, developing and implementing performance improvement activities and orienting new employees to the unit. This position will participate in on call rotations and direct patient care as applicable.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required from an accredited school of Respiratory Care required. Master's degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of New Jersey. BLS is required. Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist Certification is required within two years of date of hire or transfer.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5-7 years acute respiratory care in a hospital setting required. Management experience in respiratory care preferred. Solid understanding of Blood Gas CAP regulatory requirements, Respiratory Care Quality& PI, organizational vision and values; strong interpersonal, communication and management skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications, Excel and Power Point required at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood-borne pathogens, and potential injury. Must have the ability to distinguish colors.
This position requires sitting at a desk or computer a majority of the day with frequent walking and standing.

This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
