We are currently hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager II - Theatre (Orthopaedic/Spinal) for a reputed hospital in Cork, Ireland. Our focus is on delivering exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, compassion, and professionalism are at the heart of everything we do Responsibilities ​ Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Orthopaedic and Spinal Theatre, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred care. Provide strong clinical and professional leadership to nursing and theatre staff. Coordinate theatre lists, patient flow, staffing and workload to ensure the efficient delivery of surgical services. Ensure patients receive appropriate pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative nursing care. Work closely with orthopaedic and spinal surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team. Ensure appropriate preparation of patients, equipment, instruments and theatre environments for scheduled procedures. Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, aseptic technique and surgical safety. Oversee the safe use, availability and maintenance of specialist orthopaedic and spinal surgical equipment and instrumentation. Monitor and manage staffing levels, staff allocation, rosters and skill mix to meet theatre requirements. Support the recruitment, induction, supervision, training and professional development of nursing and theatre staff. Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement and continuous professional development. Monitor clinical standards, documentation, medication management, risk management and incident reporting. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and service development within the theatre department. Requirements Registered General Nurse with current registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) live register Minimum 5 years’ post-registration experience in an acute theatre setting Previous experience in Orthopaedic and/or Spinal Theatre is desirable A recognised management qualification or course is desirable Proven clinical and managerial ability, with strong leadership and organisational skills Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staffing resources and theatre operations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Excellent computer literacy and IT skills Strong leadership and people management skills Knowledge of nurse education, professional development and staff training Benefits · Education Assistance programmes · Competitive salary comparable to HSE rates · Relocation expenses Weekend work allowance · Excellent Contribution Pension Scheme · Flexible working patterns available · Cycle to work scheme · Employee Assistance Programme
