Job Description

We are hiring Clinical Nurse Manager II- Theatre (Anaesthesia/PACU) into a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. We will provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the centre of all we do. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate high standards of clinical competence and professionalism while delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centred nursing care across Theatre, PACU and Anaesthetic areas. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging nursing practices, clinical guidelines, relevant legislation, infection prevention and control requirements, health and safety standards, and hospital policies. Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate holistic nursing care, ensuring continuity of care from admission through treatment and discharge while meeting each patient's individual needs. Provide effective clinical leadership, direction and support to nursing and healthcare staff, including delegation, supervision, motivation, performance management and promotion of professional standards. Organise and manage daily unit activities effectively, including staffing levels, patient dependency, rosters, annual leave, time and attendance, workload allocation, resources and departmental requirements. Promote effective multidisciplinary teamwork and communication by working collaboratively with patients, relatives, colleagues, hospital departments and external organisations to ensure coordinated and high-quality care. Demonstrate strong decision-making, problem-solving and organisational skills, using professional judgement, relevant information and evidence-based practice to manage complex clinical situations and respond appropriately to emergencies and complaints. Support education, training and continuous professional development by orientating new staff, maintaining training records, completing PACU/Anaesthetic competency assessments, supporting clinical initiatives and encouraging staff development. Maintain and improve quality and safety standards by supporting JCI and HIQA compliance, quality improvement initiatives, infection control, medication and equipment safety, incident reporting, risk management and the review of clinical policies and procedures. Contribute to effective service and resource management through stock control, equipment management, budget planning, recruitment and selection, service development, performance reviews and implementation of changes that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Requirements Hold a recognised BSc in Nursing qualification. Maintain current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Have a minimum of 5 years’ acute Irish healthcare experience within a Theatre environment. Possess strong clinical expertise and knowledge relevant to Theatre nursing practice. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Have proven experience working effectively within large multidisciplinary teams in a busy acute healthcare setting. Demonstrate strong leadership and team management abilities. Possess effective operational management and organisational skills. A recognised Leadership and Management qualification or relevant management course is desirable.
