The Team

Renal Services - North (Tas) - has an Acute, in-hospital, renal unit in the Launceston General Hospital, and an outpatient Satellite Renal Unit, in the Launceston Community Health Centre, 22 McHugh Street, Kings Meadows - which provides Haemodialysis and Renal Home Therapies, as well as chronic kidney disease education and preparation for dialysis. This part-time position is a job-share arrangement, with a current permanent part-time Renal Vascular CNC. The Renal Team is made up of Nursing, Medical and Allied Health staff.

The Role

• The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Renal Vascular Access, provides clinical leadership and expertise within a multidisciplinary renal team.
• The CNC - Renal Vascular Access provides authoritative expertise in the clinical care of CKD patients requiring vascular access for haemodialysis.
• The CNC - Renal Vascular Access is a central point for referral and co-ordination across the North, for all renal vascular access creation, management and education.

You will need:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse with Renal Nursing experience.
• To be able to provide clinical nursing consultancy on issues of clinical practice involving renal vascular access and act as a role model and expert clinician within Renal Services - North.
• To be able to coordinate and develop effective pathways for direct vascular access referrals to facilitate timely vascular access formation and / or interventions.
• To be able to promote the maintenance of effective communication channels between internal and external stakeholders.

Details of appointment

• Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 24 hours per fortnight, commencing 15 August 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with Renal experience.

• Holds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualifications in renal nursing
