The Role:

The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Patient Safety contributes to the successful positioning of the Quality and Patient Safety service through the provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare both internally and externally, by supporting the clinical areas to operate effective clinical services in accordance with the Department of Health and Quality and Patient Safety objectives.

The occupant will:

• Apply a clinical perspective to all facets of the Quality and Patient Safety service.
• Support and monitor the safety event program including identification and investigation of serious incidents. Liaise with action officers who are responsible for implementation of recommendations.
• Facilitate and coordinate the introduction, implementation, and monitoring of patient safety initiatives across the agency.
• Engage and lead in all aspects of the National Safety and Quality Health Care (NSQHS) Standards
• Use data to drive improvements and link in with departments to support local quality improvement activities.

Mersey Community Hospital/North West Regional Hospital - Quality and Patient Safety Service

• Utilise your clinical knowledge within the Quality and Safety Team
• Work across multiple hospitals

Details of appointment:

Multiple permanent full time or part time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team!

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

• Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
• Current Driver’s Licence
