Mater Private Hospital Townsville is delighted to offer an exciting career advancement opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse! Our Coronary Care & Cardio Thoracic Unit (CCU/CTU) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to step into a Clinical Nurse Level 2 role within our team.
This permanent position is predominantly night-shift focused, making it ideally suited to applicants who thrive in an overnight clinical environment. We welcome candidates with indirect critical care experience, such as those from ICU or other high-acuity settings, who are eager to expand their expertise. Successful applicants must be willing to undertake our Cardiac Transition Program to support their development into this specialised area if not already completed.
We also offer excellent flexibility, with employment options ranging from 0.6 FTE part-time through to full-time hours, allowing you to choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle.
The CCU/CTU is a 20-bed unit with 7 dedicated CCU beds, providing a high level of care for acutely ill and chronic cardiovascular/cardiothoracic patients, catering for elective and emergency admissions. Offering a wide variety of cardiac services to the community the team strives for excellence in customer care and best practice.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Cardio Thoracic Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in our CCU/CTU Nursing team. Your responsibilities will include providing individual care for patients who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing adverse cardiac events. You will also be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical nursing services and associated programs to meet the evolving needs of our patients.
