Job Description

The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy seeks a part-time Clinical Musician to support the musicianship training of music therapy trainees.

The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy provides onsite music therapy services, trains graduate and post-graduate level music therapy students and professionals, and conducts research advancing knowledge into the Nordoff-Robbins approach.

  • Provide musical training for music therapy trainees.
  • Develop a curriculum of music therapy musicianship skills.
  • Facilitate weekly classes with 3-6 music therapy trainees in the instruction of musical skills necessary for clinical music therapy.

Fully on-site.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay rate for this position is $130.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

  • Required Education

    • Master’s degree in music therapy

  • Required Experience

    • 5 years of clinical music therapy experience

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Advanced musical skills on piano or guitar; robust harmonic and stylistic musical vocabulary
