About the Position

We are seeking a Molecular Technologist to perform all aspects of testing in a CLIA high-complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory from specimen receipt through result reporting, while helping to build a world-class precision oncology laboratory focused exclusively on glioblastoma.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform complex molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with established protocols, including nucleic acid extraction and qualification, next generation sequencing, and microarray analysis. Full training will be provided.
  • Participates in the accessioning and labeling of specimens, specimen storage and disposal, and the maintenance of reagents and equipment.
  • Document laboratory testing activities in the electronic LIMS and paper batch records, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
  • Assist in training entry level employees in molecular methodology and testing procedures, under guidance and within protocol parameters.
  • Participate in troubleshooting of Quality Controls and instrument failures.
  • Provide input and feedback for method development and method changes including the development of standard operating procedures involving methods and instrumentation in the molecular lab.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties delegated by laboratory management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biology, or related scientific discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience performing NGS assays, isolation of RNA/DNA
  • Exceptional bench techniques

Schedule, Salary, Benefits

  • This is a Monday - Friday, first shift role, with the opportunity for growth and advancement.
  • Pay rate: $29/hr-$38/hr depending on experience and education
  • Fully paid health insurance and participation in retirement plan after 6 months
