Job Description

Supervises nursing care rendered to patients including the monitoring of safety, quality, compassion and accountability. Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates daily operations of the nursing unit. Participates in the hiring, orientation, staffing and supervision of the unit staff. This position functions as second in command of the assigned nursing unit

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is preferred upon hire but must be enrolled in program within three years of hire with degree completed within five years of position hire date.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or compact state is required.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is preferred within 3 months, required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification required within 3 months from date of hire.
  • AVADE level II required within 3 months of hire with annual recert required.
  • Certification in area of expertise is preferred.
