Lead the Way as Clinical Lead Vet – Established Practice with an Exciting Future
Salary up to £75,000 | £5,000 Welcome Bonus | Partnership Opportunities
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead Vet to join our well-established and supportive team at Leeds Kirkstall Vets for Pets.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into an established practice with a strong clinical foundation. You'll be joining a team of three employed vets, supported by a full nursing team, including four experienced RVNs, as well as a dedicated client care team. With a loyal client base, excellent facilities and an experienced team already in place, you'll have the opportunity to focus on leading clinical standards while helping shape the next stage of the practice's growth. With exciting plans for expansion over the coming years, it's the ideal time to make a lasting impact.
As Clinical Lead, you'll work alongside the practice leadership team to maintain high standards of patient care, mentor and support your veterinary colleagues, and continue to develop efficient clinical processes and workflows. We're looking for someone who enjoys inspiring others, driving clinical excellence and creating an environment where both patients and colleagues thrive.
Our team is close-knit, welcoming and genuinely enjoys working together. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, compassionate care with a strong focus on low-stress handling, aiming to be both fear-free and pain-free for our patients wherever possible. Outside of work, you'll often find us hiking, bowling, enjoying meals out or taking part in other social events.
The practice is well-equipped with everything you need to provide excellent clinical care, alongside regular Journal Clubs and Clinical Meetings that encourage collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
Located in the vibrant city of Leeds, our practice offers the perfect balance of city living and access to the stunning Yorkshire countryside. Leeds is one of the UK's fastest-growing and greenest cities, with excellent transport links by road, rail and air, making it a fantastic place to build both your career and your lifestyle.
About the Role
We're ideally looking for someone to work full-time (36.66 hours per week). There are no out-of-hours commitments, and Saturdays are currently on a 1 in 3 rota. We understand the importance of work-life balance and are happy to discuss compressed hours to provide a regular weekday off.
What We Offer
About You
You'll be an experienced small animal GP with excellent clinical and communication skills, ready to take the next step into a leadership role or already enjoying leading a team. You'll be confident supporting and developing colleagues, comfortable with occasional sole charge, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while fostering a positive team culture.

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

Since 1991, when we were a wholesaler with a team of just 15, we’ve been focused on getting better every day. By putting pets before profit, working as a team and taking pride in everything we do, we’ve grown into a 451 store network with more than 8,913 colleagues working in our Stores, Grooming Salons, Distribution Centres and Support Office.
We are the UK’s leading pet specialist, providing pet owners with all their product needs, as well as our Vets for Pets practices and Grooming salons. We support our colleagues to work with pride and passion, to bring honesty and integrity to work every day, and to do it all with a sense of fun and fearlessness. We never shy away from having the important conversations and doing what we say we’ll do.
Our values and behaviours are practiced daily across the business and are what really makes us an enjoyable, exciting place to work. We're always striving to develop and reward our colleagues with an extensive in-house series of training programmes, wellbeing initiatives and a comprehensive benefits package. In 2018 we were delighted to be voted top 5 in the Great Place to Work UK’s Large category.
Our colleagues are central to the success of the business and are fully trained in pet care and dedicated to animal welfare. Pets are central to everything that we do and 93% of colleagues have their own pets too!
