Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our dynamic team, where we're dedicated to advancing the field of immunogenetics, histocompatibility, and transplantation immunology. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for a multitude of tests in relation to organ transplantation. Your primary duties include:

•Perform high complexity histocompatibility testing, including serological techniques, microcytotoxicity testing, cross-matching, and antibody testing using Luminex.

•Participate in Transplant on-call and weekend rotations.

•Contribute to ongoing R&D and method development projects.

Salary Range: $56.54 – $75.34/hour

In addition to a competitive salary range, this position is also eligible for shift differentials.


Job Qualifications

•Current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license.

•Bachelor’s degree.

•Ability to work outside of normal shift hours, including on-call and rotating weekends.

•Experience and background in Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) and blood bank, preferred.

•Background in molecular methods, reference ranges, test methodologies, instrument operation/maintenance as well as CAP and other regulatory requirements.

•Knowledge of relevant disease states in order to communicate significance of test results.

•Ability to perform testing, documentation, interpretation, and report preparation for ongoing R&D and method development projects.

•Strong teamwork skills.

•Must pass the Ishihara Color Vision exam, i.e. visual acuity including color differentiation.
