Labcorp is seeking aClinical LabScientist to join our team in Calabasas Hills, CA
Work Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 9:00pm - 7:30am
Job Responsibilities
Providestechnical oversight of laboratory personnel with constant and direct supervision of their test-assisting activities
Tests specimens according toestablished procedures
Reviews patient results and reports out to client
If assay performs according to specifications, reports results via instrument interface or manual entry in the LIS
Follows standard operating proceduresregarding acceptance and rejection of results including reviewing all quality control acceptability and recording all remedial actions if runs are not acceptable. Alerts management to problems in quality control methods and procedures
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, documents PM appropriately, makesminor repairs and immediately contacts appropriate personnel for problems requiring more complex repairs
Develops an ever-increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results
Adheresto the standard operating proceduresand safety requirements ofEsoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies
Documents all activitiesas necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance
Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related dutiesrequested by department management
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
California state issued Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Generalist license orCaliforniaClinical Chemist Scientist (CCS) License
PreferredQualification
Current or prior Labcorp experience
Additional Job Standards
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
**Pay Range: $45.00 - $55.00 per hourplus shift differential
Benefits: Employeesregularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
