• Process patient samples for analysis and culture. This includes reviewing appropriateness of requests, accessioning, aliquotting, centrifugation, and shipping preparation for specimens sent to a reference laboratory.
• Perform pre-analytical steps related to the initial set-up and plating of microbiology specimens and stain preparation.
• Perform standard laboratory procedures requiring the limited exercise of independent judgment and interpretation.
• Work under direct supervision of clinical laboratory technologist, laboratory Supervisor or manager of a clinical laboratory.

• An Associate degree (or higher) from a certified clinical laboratory technician program registered by the NYSED.gov as licensure qualifying (or a program in certified clinical laboratory technician or a related title that is determined by the NYSED.gov to be the substantial equivalent of a registered program in certified clinical laboratory technician)
• New York State Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician required
• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting strongly preferred

• Day shift: 8AM-4PM with rotating weekends and holidays
• Reports into: Manager, Laboratory Medicine
• Location: Main Campus
