Clinical Key Relations Lead

Purpose:

Within the last years, the competition of sponsors for sites has been steadily increasing. Adding to this, customer centric approaches and tailored interactions are becoming the norm. To stay competitive Bayer needs to adjust to these changes and move from operational to more strategic partnerships.

The Clinical Key Relation Lead will be part of a matrix organization that is responsible for building and strengthening strategic partnerships with regional key sites and networks. The role will operationally establish partnerships (e.g., by driving contracting), regionalize global strategies, develop tailored engagement and retention strategies, and establish continuous communication channels from Bayer towards the site (and vice versa).

The Clinical Key Relations Lead will balance superior customer experience for 8 sites in APAC with insight and feedback generation for internal stakeholders with an overarching goal to ensure faster and more efficient trial conduct.

Key Tasks:

  • Site / IDN relations management: Establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with clinical key accounts to ensure smooth operations and effective communication to build a clinical network for faster study conduct

  • Engagement and retention strategies:
    • Builds recommendations on how to engage and retain site participation throughout the study for non-key sites o Builds study planning across portfolio
    • Provides site network with knowledge and awareness about current and ongoing clinical trials
    • Develops a long-term collaboration roadmap

  • Strategy Implementation: Drives and localizes the implementation of global key relations strategies that position Bayer as partner-of choice

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Works closely with other departments, such as Clinical Customer Centricity and Medical Affairs, to ensure cross-functional alignment and high-quality customer experience

  • Feedback acquisition and channeling:
    • Gathers feedback on protocol and study design drafts and ensures the feedback reaches the clinical project teams
    • Gathers and reports feedback from sites to the clinical operations team to inform ongoing study management

  • Contracting: Supports contracting activities and ensures a broad framework is established with the respective key site / network that ensures fast study start-up

  • Knowledge sharing: Enables knowledge flows and best practice sharing between Bayer and sites and also across sites via other Clinical Key relations leads

  • Internal senior sponsors for external clinics / IDNs

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate in Medicine or Life Sciences, with long-term professional experience in healthcare industry, preferably experience in relationship management / site facing roles, minimum of 10 years in pharma
  • Broad medical / scientific knowledge: Able to serve as TA-agnostic first line of scientific and alliance contact without the need for in depths domain knowledge
  • Customer Centric Mindset: Able to analyze and understand the needs of sites / IDNs and able to ensure superior customer experiences.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain complex topics in a simplified way.
  • Strategic mindset: Proven ability to develop a strategic long-term collaboration plan and is able to maintain the required personal relations to key site personnel
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders without hierarchical authority and with accountability to make decisions.
  • Strong ability to self-organize: Pro-actively drive improvement, trouble-shooting, inclusive mindset and strong display of DSO behaviors.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills and demonstration of VACC leadership behaviors as well as experience in driving change and delivering results in a matrix organization
