The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a full-time position of Clinical Faculty (Open Rank)/Clinical Pharmacist in the Medicaid Services Group. This group provides services for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee pharmaceutical manufacturer contracting process for the universal preferred drug list.
• Manage the Drug Utilization Review Program; including developing reports on each DUR topic, presenting data at the DUR.
• Meeting and ensuring all annual reports are completed and submitted to CMS
• Provide prior authorization services for the Illinois Medicaid Fee-For-Service program, which includes: assuring completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of drug therapy for prior authorization requests, consulting with medical staff with respect to recommendations for improved patient medical therapy, interpreting drug-related information when requested, documenting communications with providers, and developing policy.
• Conduct one-on-one academic detailing to Medicaid prescribers, which includes: recruiting prescribers, and conducting educational outreach visits.
• Met with leadership team in Springfield weekly to prioritize project management.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited pharmacy program with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred.
• Must be licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist prior to hire date.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Illinois Medicaid.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
• Must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for an academic faculty position as Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medicaid Drug Utilization Review experience
• Managed care experience preferred; hospital/community experience welcome.
• Medical writing experience.
• Strong computer skills.
• Strong presentation skills, written and verbal communication.
• Strong data review and interpretation skills.
• Maintains advanced skills in areas of practice, demonstrating a commitment to continuing professional growth and advancement of the pharmacy profession.
