Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Informatics the incumbent is responsible for collecting, assessing, and analyzing user requirements, departmental and/or hospital work flow, and supports process re-design by using a variety of methodical processes and education to ensure systems meet the needs of the clinicians and organization to deliver excellent quality care. In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Clinical Informatics Specialist evaluates, plans, implements, tests, maintains, and supports complex, integrated information systems which support clinical and health information needs throughout Yukon Hospital Corporation.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Demonstrated effective organization skills;
The successful candidate will have Clinical informatics experience or five (5) years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting using informatics systems; Degree, diploma, certificate in Health Care and/or Computer Systems; Education/training in Clinical Informatics; Health care experience in an acute care setting required and an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered. Additional education in the clinical specialty of informatics/supplemented courses in computer software technology, Experience with Healthcare Information System preferably with MEDITECH systems - exposure to the key applications of the MEDITECH health care information systems: Administrative and Clinical is desired.
