In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible developing, implementing, maintaining, and support duties of clinical systems within the Information Systems department. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
- Demonstrate proficiency with all phases of clinical information systems development and operations processes, including needs assessment, process/workflow documentation, application design, build and configuration, testing, user acceptance, activation, and support. Collaborate with Clinical Informatics team, clinical stakeholders, and leadership to ensure vendor/industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and standardization initiatives incorporate into system design, operations, and projects. Adhere to standardized development and change management processes when evaluating and implementing new content or functionality.
- Round routinely within clinical areas to assess information systems functionality, usability, and training needs or issues. Promote outstanding customer service through prompt and thorough issue resolution as Tier 2 technical support. Utilize AIDET methodology in all interactions with customers. Produce technical solutions that are stable, efficient, up–to–date, and consistent with clinical workflow, vendor/industry best practices, corporate policies/procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support of clinical applications and issue resolution during and outside of normal scheduled shifts, including rotating on-call after hours/holiday support for high priority issues.
- Perform appropriate testing and document findings for new development, optimization, modifications, issue resolution, and upgrades/updates to ensure expected function and alignment with applicable policy, procedures, processes, best practices and/or regulatory requirements. Analyze and document detailed clinical system factors, including configuration requirements, integration components, design constraints, and alternative problem resolution. Contribute to the development and promotion of standard work and content standardization across the platform. Identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, performance, and compliance.
- Achieve performance goals for customer satisfaction, issue resolution, quality assurance, and other measures determined by leadership. Produce, analyze, and distribute relevant clinical data to key stakeholders, committees, and leaders.
- Submit a productivity report on time. Produce and maintain system, operational, workflow, downtime procedure, and design decision documents. Prepare user training and reference material as necessary. Prepare agendas and meeting minutes for any chaired meetings/committees/groups.
- Identify system or clinical workflow issues and defects from Remedy, clinical user groups/committees, and customer rounding and implement solutions in a timely manner. Communicate project and operational status and barriers to Manager of Clinical Informatics, Clinical team, and clinical stakeholders.
- Possess and grow technical skills necessary to support applications including, but not limited to, design, system build, maintenance, problem resolution, and documentation writing. Proactive knowledge acquisition through cross-functional training, and continuing education.
- As the subject matter expert of assigned applications, act as technical advisor and coach for teammates, super users, and end users. Work to eliminate silos by encouraging cross-functional collaboration. Act as a resource and consultant to all staff as needed.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

QualificationsMinimum Education/Experience Required:
- Associates degree in Nursing, Informatics, or other related Healthcare field required.
- 10+ years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
- Minimum of two years of patient care experience in an acute setting required.
- Experience working within matrix organizational structures preferred.
- Current or previous Nursing or other clinical license or certification preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
- Advanced proficiency with Meditech Expanse advanced clinical applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with effective written/verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated success with prioritizing and managing competing objectives.
- Strong clinical judgment and familiarity of clinical workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem solving skills.
Compensation Details:  Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
