The Role

The Clinical Informatics Analyst will actively participate in the planning, development, implementation, education, and training of the chosen clinical systems which directly impact patient care. The analyst will identify and analyze clinical practice and processes and recommend modifications or solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical care. The analyst will participate in the evaluation and maintenance of clinical systems and provide a consistent presence on patient care units to support clinical transformation and assist staff in maximizing the use of information technology. The analyst will commit to the position and allow for flexibility in schedule to meet the needs of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in supporting the deployment of clinical information systems for all clients; Provide “at the elbow” technical support. 10%
  • Participate in the development of clinical information systems content and design; Researching and evaluating best practice standards. 15%
  • Participate in the testing, evaluation, and maintenance of clinical systems; Provide feedback regularly. 15%
  • Provide a consistent presence where care is provided to support clinical transformation and assist staff in maximizing the use of information technology. 10%
  • Facilitate communication and foster collaborative relationships with clinical and non-clinical users that interface with clinical systems. 15%
  • Demonstrate and maintain proficient use of currently installed information systems. 10%
  • Prioritize and respond to support needs of clients; articulate the plan to address client needs and complete follow up and evaluation. 10%
  • Recommend modifications/solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical care and workflow; Participate in ongoing refinement of systems. 15%
  • Performs other job duties and responsibilities as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited clinical program required (e.g., RN, RT, PT, OT, SLP). Associate degree or bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a clinician (e.g., RN, RT, PT, OT, SLP) in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license in recognized compact state if not a permanent resident of SC.
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in executing ITIL-aligned service management processes, including Incident, Request, and Change Management
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience in managing application support and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and independently.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as well as a thorough understanding of clinical processes and practices.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic knowledge of computer skills, email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate and apply a high level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and critical thinking to the following key areas: clinical practice, collaboration/teamwork, leadership and professional development, and process improvement/systems thinking. Must have knowledge of electronic health records.

Additional details

  • Some roles may require participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support for critical applications, ensuring continuous and reliable service availability and travel as necessary to support the business.
