Works with the Manager IT Clinical Informatics and Training of Mount Nittany Health to lead optimization efforts and assist in the design of workflows, process improvement, and quality initiatives as they relate to clinical used of the EHR used at Mount Nittany Health. Assists with the creation, maintenance, and presentation of a broad library of training materials targeting clinicians at Mount Nittany Health with primary attention to the correct and efficient use of the electronic health record (EHR) systems. This individual assists in the design of the education and training plan for EHR system and Mount Nittany Health specific applications. Develops expertise in assigned applications as well as business area and departmental workflows.

Receives supervision from the Manager IT Clinical Informatics and Training of Mount Nittany Health. Works independently and collaboratively to achieve established goals and objectives, consulting and collaborating with others in the collaborative team environment as appropriate.

1) Assists in development of optimized workflows for clinical needs as they relate to usage of the electronic medical record systems in use including the establishment and reinforcement of standard operating procedures, clinical competencies, staff education, and compliance with care standards.
2) Works closely with clinicians so that the clinical and organizational needs closely integrate with clinical workflow.
3) Participates in the design, implementation, and integration of Clinical IT systems and infrastructure.
4) Consults and coordinates with the Clinical Informatics Manager, as well as other IT Managers and Department and Operational Leaders.
5) Leads and executes initiatives to improve operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and quality of care.
6) Remains current in health informatics in order to develop applications that increase efficiency in patient care.
7) Supports organizational change using communication and educational methods.
8) Uses key metrics to track and evaluate clinical performance outcomes. Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and to develop action plans that drive measurable results.
9) Provides leadership by developing educational frameworks to support the growth of licensed and unlicensed clinical staff. Design and implement training programs to improve staff proficiency and adherence to best practices in patient care.
10) Serves as an author, presenter, and maintainer of educational materials to include, but not limited to, formal lectures, On Line Media (static and video), one-on-one interaction with clinical staff, and social media.
