Job Description

Pay Range: $62,000 – 66,000 /Yr.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Office Location: 5250 Old Orchard Rd Skokie IL 60077

The Clinical Field Trainer (CFT) is a member of the Clinical Training Team and plays a vital role in developing the skills, confidence, and professional growth of clinical staff across the organization. This position supports the creation and maintenance of in-house training and educational resources while delivering onboarding, skills-based training, coaching, and ongoing job support to both new and existing employees. Through facilitation of classroom, virtual, and field-based learning experiences, hands-on observation, and individualized coaching, the Clinical Field Trainer helps staff build competence, apply best practices, and perform effectively in their roles. Working collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders, this role reinforces organizational standards and values, supports regulatory and quality expectations, and fosters a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.

  • Facilitate individual and group training sessions for clinical staff, including onboarding, skills development, evidence-based practices, clinical best practices, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and update clinical training and educational materials to support staff learning, competency, and professional development.
  • Provide group and individual training, hands-on coaching, observation, and feedback related to clinical assessment and service documentation in accordance with payer, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Facilitate structured field-based training engagements, including Clinical Field Trainer (CFT) Days, which may occur in community settings, clinical staff offices, and client homes to support skill development, observation, and application of training in real-world environments.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications necessary to support organizational training needs, such as CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and facilitate approved certification-based trainings as assigned.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of continuing education opportunities, including collaborating with internal subject matter experts and external training partners to host live events.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Clinical Training and Education Director regarding training needs, staff development opportunities, emerging trends, and potential gaps in training programs to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, clinical leaders, and staff to reinforce learning, support skill transfer, and promote consistent implementation of clinical best practices.
  • Cultivate positive professional relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and serve as a resource for clinical learning and development.
  • Travel regularly to office, community, and service locations to provide in-person training, coaching, observation, and job support.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License with daily access to a vehicle.
  • Demonstrated work experience and in-depth knowledge of an outreach role
  • Thorough knowledge of organization team workflows, documentation requirements, scheduling, and systems
  • Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills
  • In-depth knowledge of CareLogic, effective note writing skills, and IM-CANS.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills. Ability to impart knowledge to a variety of diverse employees with different learning styles.
  • Ability to navigate multiple electronic medical record systems fluidly
  • Flexibility in scheduling across teams/programs, adaptable, and proactive in a variety of situations
  • Thorough and clear communication to all teams, departments, and supervisors
  • Familiarity with computers and database management tools
  • Excellent customer service and organization skills
  • May be required to lift, carry, bend, reach, and stand with parcels up to 25 lbs.
