About Us:
The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an independent, non-profit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. In dozens of laboratories throughout the campus, researchers are working to unravel the mysteries of heart and kidney disease, cardiac complications in newborns, chronic lung disease, skin cancer, sickle cell disease, disorders of the autoimmune system, and much more. Many of these projects are collaborative in nature, involving experts from different areas of specialization. Our discoveries have prevented blindness in newborns, enabled premature infants with fragile lungs to breathe and allowed children with rare, often fatal diseases to grow up healthy and strong.
Requirements:
CA MD or DO
Unrestricted CA Medical License; board certified or board-eligible, and successful completion of an accredited US medical residency
Successful completion of an accredited United States medical residency
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Clinical knowledge appropriate for licensed United States residency graduate
Patient-provider skills appropriate for licensed United States residency graduate
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner
Demonstrated cooperative behavior and positive problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in assigned clinics, as scheduled by program directors
Follow up on test results, consults, etc. as needed for patient care
Complete forms or do any required administrative work required for patient care
Review clinical literature related to patient care
Attend didactic sessions as scheduled by program directors
Prepare and lead lectures on related clinical topics, as assigned by program directors
Complete scholarly project on topics related to medical care, health system issues, or community-based health issues
Attend academic courses or seminars as agreed upon with program directors
