Job Description

Aspen Medical’s Defence & National Security team are looking to appoint a Clinical Educator. Working closely with clinical governance, medical, nursing, allied health and operational leaders, you will design and deliver practical, evidence-based education that helps build a capable, credentialed and operationally ready multidisciplinary workforce. This is a hands-on role spanning clinical education, simulation, competency assessment and workforce readiness, with the opportunity to influence how healthcare professionals are prepared and supported to deliver safe, high-quality care in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver clinical education, workforce readiness and professional development programs across medical, nursing and allied health workforces.
  • Develop engaging learning resources, competency assessments and education materials that translate clinical governance, professional standards and credentialing requirements into practice.
  • Design and facilitate simulation-based training, scenario-based learning and practical clinical skills assessments, including emergency response and readiness activities.
  • Support onboarding, mobilisation and workforce readiness, ensuring clinicians have the knowledge, skills and competencies required to safely enter and maintain practice.
  • Deliver education through face-to-face, virtual and blended learning approaches to support a geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary workforce.
  • Monitor learning outcomes, training compliance and workforce capability, using evaluation and feedback to continuously improve clinical education programs.

About you

We are looking for an experienced clinician and educator who can combine clinical credibility with engaging, contemporary learning practices. You will ideally bring:

  • A relevant degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Medicine, Health Sciences or a related clinical discipline, with current professional registration where applicable.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Education, Health Professional Education, Adult Education, Learning & Development or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering clinical education, simulation, professional development or workforce capability programs within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, clinical governance, professional standards, competency assessment and healthcare quality and safety requirements.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical, operational and corporate teams.
  • Experience within Defence health, primary or emergency care, remote healthcare, government-contracted services, workforce mobilisation or RTO environments will be highly regarded. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) and knowledge of Defence learning systems such as ADELE will also be advantageous.

If you are passionate about clinical education and want to play a meaningful role in developing a safe, capable and operationally ready healthcare workforce supporting Australia’s Defence community, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply via the application link. We will review applications as part of our recruitment process and will be in contact with shortlisted candidates. To ensure a fair and efficient recruitment process, we are unable to respond to individual enquiries regarding this opportunity.
