Position Details:

The Mercy Nurse Educator/Clinical Instructor serves a dual role in nursing student education and caregiver development. This position functions as the primary liaison between Mercy and affiliated nursing programs, coordinating student clinical experiences, and preceptor assignments. This role also supports the onboarding and development of Mercy caregivers through orientation and required hospital training. This role supports Mercy's commitment to education, workforce development, and excellence in patient care

Minimum Required:

  • If Bachelor's degree has been attained, 2 years' clinical experience is required. If Associate's degree is the highest level of degree attained, 10 years' hospital nursing experience or 5 years' hospital nursing experience if active enrollment in a RN to BSN program.
  • Current appropriate state license if required in discipline.
  • BLS provider.
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge related to evidence-based practice with the credibility to positively influence the delivery of patient care.
  • Proven ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of audiovisual equipment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of equipment/technology used in delivery of patient care.

Preferred:

  • 2 years' teaching experience.
