The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Auditor and Trainer oversees and performs quality audits designed to facilitate and obtain appropriate physician documentation for any clinical conditions or procedures to support the appropriate severity of illness, expected risk of mortality, and complexity of care of the patient. Educates members of the patient care team regarding documentation guidelines and other special projects designed to add value and reduce risk to the strategies and objectives of the CDI department and Community Health System (CHS). Designs and prepares audit programs, conducts fieldwork, prepares work papers, drafts reports, and follows up on management corrective actions and denials in accordance with professional audit standards. Responsible for on-boarding of new CDIS. This position requires the individual to reside in California and will be required to come onsite quarterly for team meetings.
