Position Type: 72 Hours Biweekly
Salary Range: $30.48 - $40.97 Hourly
The Dietitian will play a vital role in the healthcare team by providing nutritional care to patients in various disease states and conditions. The Dietitian will monitor, assess, and optimize nutrition status based on the patient's current medical condition and/or nutrition adequacy. He or she will confer with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs, and make recommendations for tube and intravenous feedings and/or dietary supplements. The Dietitian will teach patients and/or caregivers how to make nutritionally sound food choices to speed the recovery process, prevent/manage disease and maintain/manage a healthy lifestyle and weight. The Dietitian will work mainly in the outpatient setting and fill in for the inpatient dietitian occasionally, as needed, and on every 3rd weekend and holiday. Weekend rotation entails approximately 1-4 hours per weekend which can be completed remotely, however, candidate does need to be available to come into the facility if needed.
The Dietitian reports to the Nutrition Services Director and Lead Clinical Dietitian. The Dietitian has contact with patients, nurses, physicians, department directors, hospital employees, patients' families, and the public. Effective interpersonal communication and educational skills are essential to this position. The dietitian must maintain confidentiality and self-direction.
Compensation:
Hourly
Wage Range: $30.48- $40.97/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications
- Education/Special Skills: Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a Minnesota RD license are required.
- - Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition;
- - Certification in Diabetes Education or Weight Management is preferred (or willingness to acquire within 2 years).
- - Have Food Safety certification or be willing to obtain with in 1 year of hire.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, decision making abilities, computer application, and mathematical abilities.
- Previous healthcare setting preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of federal, state, a local regulation regarding food safety and sanitation. Proficiency with WordPerfect and Microsoft Office Suite software preferred.
- Visual acuity is needed for inspection of data, figures, computer terminals, and preparing, and reading written materials.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.

- Must be able to attend work site per schedule.
- Travel to outreach clinics is possible.
