What You’ll Do
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing nutrition care to patients in accordance with physician's diagnoses and requirements of regulatory agencies. Obtains, analyzes and collates patient information into nutrition care plans and recommendations for nutrition care. Member of multidisciplinary health care team. Plans, develops, and presents nutrition information and programs to patients, staff, and community. Exercises independent judgment regarding patient nutrition care and completion of work assignments.
Essential Functions:
Performs comprehensive nutrition assessments.
Develops & implements individualized nutrition care plans.
Diagnoses nutrition problems using standardized language.
Provides evidence-based diet education specific to medical diagnoses.
Screens for, assesses, diagnose and treats malnutrition.
Documents in patient's medical record according to regulatory agency requirements, hospital and department policies and procedures.
Communicates clearly and effectively to disciplinary team, as needed.
