1. Monitors diet orders on all patients who are NPO or receiving a clear or surgical liquid diet.
2. Evaluates the nutritional needs of patients receiving parenteral and enteral nutrition.
3. Interviews patients to obtain information regarding their dietary history, as well as food habits and preferences for guidance in planning the patient’s diet.
4. Calculates diets for diabetic patients and other therapeutic diets, and provides diet counseling for all patients on modified diets who require it.
5. Reviews the medical record and charts appropriately in the patient’s medical record after each patient contact.
6. Serves as a nutritional resource person for medical, nursing, and ancillary personnel; provides in services, lectures, classes, etc. as requested.
7. Maintains an updated Diet Manual and Policy/Procedure Manual, as well as current nutrition education materials as applicable.
8. Evaluates patient meals for conformance to quality standards and dietary principals; assures the patients' diets and menus are nutritionally adequate.
9. Provides nutrition education for inpatients, outpatients, students, and staff as required
10. Evaluates nutritional care and provides follow-up for continuity of care for patients.
11. Evaluates p.o. intake for calorie count and makes recommendations to improve patient's nutritional status.
12. Maintains effective written and verbal communication and public relations, intra and inter- departmentally.
13. Monitors activities, compiles and writes quality improvement reports as applicable.
14. Demonstration of the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the pediatric, adolescent, adult and or geriatric patients. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.
15. Maintains effective working relationships with employees, physicians, administration.
16. Strives to render better customer services by providing service assistance and open communications.
17. Inspires confidence from patients, visitors and staff members by performing and communicating in a professional, courteous and caring manner.
18. Any other duties assigned as needed to help drive our Mission and abide by our organizations values.

Cardiology, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, Urology, Social Services,
ENT, Cardiac Rehab, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Practice,
Podiatry, Ophthalmology plus General and Orthopedic Surgery,
Dietary and Respiratory.
Radiology Services include MRI, Dual Head Nuclear Medicine and a 64
Slice CT with computed radiology.
