THE OPPORTUNITY

The Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting clinical and service data to support quality improvement, clinical governance, and evidence-based decision-making.
The role ensures that data is translated into meaningful insights that improve safety, effectiveness, and outcomes across services and delivery partners.

This role is a temporary contract for 6 months. It is full-time (38 hours) with hybrid working arrangements (our offices are in the Sydney, CBD).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect, validate, clean, and analyse clinical, operational, and service data to support performance monitoring, decision making and compliance.
• Develop, deliver and present regular and ad hoc reports on performance, quality, and safety indicators.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Use and maintain appropriate reporting and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL-based systems)
• Contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of dashboards and automated reporting solutions
• Support Service & Clinical governance committees by providing high-quality data, dashboards, and reporting.
• Contribute to monitoring, analysis and reporting of clinical incidents, complaints, and risk indicators
• Assist in tracking compliance with clinical standards, legislation and regulations, policies, and frameworks
• Provide timely and accurate information to support quality, risk identification and mitigation and decision making.
• Partner with teams to inform and support quality improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights.
• Evaluate the impact of interventions using agreed data. metrics and outcomes.
• Support the development and monitoring of KPIs related to service performance and clinical governance maturity.
• Provide analysis and reporting that supports improvement of service and clinical governance.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of clinical datasets and service-related data sets.
• Develop, maintain and apply data definitions, dictionaries, and metadata to support consistent interpretation and data use.
• Work with systems and digital teams to improve data capture, validation and reporting capability
• Support the development of data governance standards, controls and quality.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external delivery partners.
• Provide data literacy support and education to stakeholders to improve data-informed decision-making.
• Present findings in meetings, committees, and training sessions.

ABOUT YOU

• Degree in health, data analytics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field.
• Experience analysing clinical or health-related data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau).
• Ability to communicate complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
• Understanding of clinical governance, quality, and safety frameworks.
• Experience in not-for-profit, community services, or healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of incident management systems and quality reporting frameworks.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations or mental health services.
• Familiarity with data privacy and health information regulations is highly regarded.
