General Summary

  • The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the providers with clinical documentation, scheduling patients, follow-up with patients regarding any questions or concerns and other duties as instructed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Orders and schedules tests and referrals as requested by provider.
  • Coordinates communications regarding surgical review with SNSI and provides documentation as needed to assist with review of the patient’s case including obtaining outside CD’s or sending images via Weblink.
  • Contacts patients post procedure to obtain information regarding case efficacy and to answer questions regarding workup/care.
  • Composes letter’s to release patients from the Clinic’s care and to the patient’s Primary Care Providers.
  • Assists in case entry for upcoming procedures.
  • Ensures follow up appointments are scheduled post-surgical cases.
  • Reviews patient charts with the Providers ensuring that processes are being followed as directed by the provider.
  • Assists with unit charge entry as needed.
  • Updates referral, NP visit and review spreadsheet.
  • Coordinates and communicates provider requests to nurse practitioners.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Specialist, Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course preferred.

Work Experience

  • One year of experience in a medical clinic or hospital required.

Certification/License

  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association.

Mental/Physical Requirements

  • Considerable mental concentration required. Lifting up to 35 lbs., turning activities and nearly constant walking required. Standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to communicable disease via blood and other body fluids. Minimal physical discomfort.
