Clinical Coordinator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in the efficient flow of patients from the waiting room through their provider visit
Effectively captures data needed to facilitate the provider’s ability to efficiently evaluate patients including but not limited to vital signs and current medications
Handles patient call backs and prescriptions refills within the scope of the certification for this position
Administers medication and injections as directed by the provider
Prepares in advance for the provider’s clinic to run smoothly by checking the schedule and the patient record to make sure all documents are available for provider viewing
Administers IV therapy as directed by the provider if within the scope of training
Able to perform phlebotomy
Performs EKG’s, PFT’s, spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures appropriate to level of training and within the scope of the certification of this position
Performs in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgbA1c as directed by the provider
Perform sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures/surgeries
Stocks rooms and helps monitor supplies as needed
Effectively interacts with referral sources and other healthcare providers in a customer-focused manner.
Monitors clinical staff performance and conducts annual competency evaluations in conjunction with the Practice Manager
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures/Certifications/Registrations Required:
Applicant must have graduated from one or more of the following programs and have current certificate or license in that area:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program with current CMA certification from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AAMP, NAHP.
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate.
5 years’ experience in direct patient interaction in a physician’s office setting
Supervisory experience preferred
Computer skills preferred
Supervisor, Management, Leadership, Clinical Leader
