Job Description

The University of Montana invites applications for a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine for Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana (FMRWM)

This position is part of the Missoula core faculty; therefore, employees must live in Missoula. The position reports to the FMRWM Program Director.

All FMRWM faculty, regardless of job title, are expected to perform their duties in a professional manner including: ethical personal behavior, upholding the community standard of care in the practice and teaching of evidence-based medicine, creating and sustaining supportive and caring relationships with all co-workers and residents, creating and sustaining positive relationships with FMRWM community partners, and providing high quality service to our patients and other customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Resident teaching in clinical and didactic settings
  • Clinical supervision of residents
  • Provision of inpatient obstetrics at Community Medical Center
  • Practices operative obstetrics and participates in the FMRWM-OB call pool
  • Advising and mentoring residents
  • Participating with other core faculty in the ongoing development of FMRWM
  • Supervises resident physicians and medical students

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Family Medicine or Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Completion of a Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship (if Family Medicine residency training)
  • Board certification by the ABFM or AOA
  • Ability to obtain a Montana medical license
  • Ability to obtain a DEA license
  • Ability to obtain clinical privileges at Partnership Health Center and Community Medical Center

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-fellowship clinical experience or prior faculty experience

Application Instructions

Position is full time or part time, 0.5- 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.

Salary is between $246,000 to $265,400.
