
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the registered nurse the Clinical Assistant (CA) will help provide competent care for pediatric surgical patients on a 27-bed inpatient unit.
Surgical specialties include orthopedics, general surgery, trauma, ORL, and plastic surgery.
In collaboration with the registered nurse, the CA is responsible for obtaining vital signs including oxygen saturation measurements, measuring intake and output, performing EKGs, and obtaining and labeling laboratory specimens; all while identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
The CA may assist with transporting patients, stocking of supplies and equipment as needed.
The CA role provides the opportunity to practice in a family centered environment.
The ability to work a schedule of 12-hour shifts, 24 hours/week, permanent night shifts, every weekend (Sat/Sun 7PM - 7 AM)
A HS Diploma or equivalent.
1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.
Good communication skills.
The ability to work within a team.
