Summary:
The Clinical Assistant at Grand Island Clinic supports the daily operations of the clinic by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. This role provides direct patient care and assists healthcare professionals with clinical procedures, ensuring a smooth patient flow, exceptional patient care, and compliance with clinic policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:
- Greet and room patients, verifying patient information and documenting vital signs, medical histories, chief complaints, and other pertinent information.
- Reconcile medications and update patient records within the electronic medical record system.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and routine office procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure examination rooms are stocked, organized, and ready for patient care activities.
• Accurately document patient care activities, provider instructions, and other required information in the electronic medical record.
• Schedule patient appointments and assist with coordinating follow-up care.
• Process referrals, prior authorizations, and other patient care coordination activities as assigned.
• Educate patients regarding provider instructions, treatments, tests, and follow-up care.
• Answer patient questions and direct concerns to the appropriate provider or department.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and clinic policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, training, and continuing education activities.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard office software.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Medication Aide, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or other clinic-approved healthcare credential required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Previous experience in a clinic or healthcare setting preferred.
QualificationsPhysical Demands:
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving between examination rooms.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility and positioning as needed.
• Visual and auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients, providers
