The Opportunity
The IT department at MIC is growing and looking for a Clinical Applications Specialist. The Clinical Applications Specialist is responsible for the administration and maintenance of MIC's clinical systems.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys improving systems and finding better ways of working. In this role, you will help with system updates and changes, support staff through training and clear documentation, and look for ways to make day-to-day work easier and more efficient. Your problem-solving skills and focus on helping users will support high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate has experience working with clinical systems in a diagnostic imaging setting, pays close attention to detail, communicates well, and is committed to learning and growing in the role. Status: Full-time permanent
Location: #203, 11010 – 101 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 4B9
Hybrid: Required to work two (2) days a week in office.
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Role and Responsibilities
As a Clinical Applications Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of MIC’s clinical systems. Starting with common tasks, daily checks, and support requests, you will gradually take on more complex responsibilities.
The performance, reliability and security of clinical systems are critical to the seamless, optimized delivery of diagnostic imaging services to our patients and referring providers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain MIC’s clinical systems, including:
◦ PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
◦ MedInformatix RIS (Radiology Information System)
◦ Clario Smart Worklist
◦ Nuance Powerscribe
◦ DICOM Vendor Neutral Archive
◦ Kailo SonoReview electronic worksheets
◦ Corepoint HL7 Integration Engine
• Prioritize and resolve support requests from staff, radiologists, and our helpdesk, escalating as needed based on key drivers (e.g. radiologist impact, patient care).
• Implement innovative changes to enhance user experience with MIC’s clinical systems.
• Maintain data integrity of clinical application systems and patient records.
• Conduct upgrade, implementation, and integration testing, and troubleshoot issues in partnership with software vendors.
• Participate in and lead projects as required.
• Lead the configuration, development, implementation and training for clinical systems, and create and maintain end-user documentation.
• Contribute to the development of individual objectives and the departmental strategic plan.
Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated leadership and experience supporting and maintaining clinical systems related to healthcare.
• Diverse clinical system background with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and clinical system dependencies.
• Experience defining workflow requirements and supporting and troubleshooting HL7 and DICOM-based integrations.
• Proven track record of work quality and attention to detail.
• A demonstrated, clear pattern of professional and personal growth.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively to all personnel, including clinical staff and radiologists.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine commitment to providing quality support to end-users.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle to travel to clinics as needed, with occasional work-from-home opportunities.
