Shift Details: Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30a-5:30p

General Statement of Duties

The Clinic Team Lead supports the clinic staff by ensuring Physicians see patients in a timely and efficient manner, which may include having the Team Lead resolve problems with patient flow, patient concern situations, staff scheduling and filling in where there may not be adequate staff. The position is responsible for mentoring new employees and keeping up with all schedule and staffing changes.

Essential Duties:

  1. Coordinates and supports the daily activities of the Clinic and providers. Creates and maintains the Medical Assistant and provider schedules. Coordinates to cover schedule changes, including call-ins, time off requests, heavy volume, etc. Supports and can work in various clinic positions, including but not limited to; Medical Assistant and Patient access Representative, to help resolve staffing needs. Assists in Clinic coverage and staff support needs, including changing Clinic locations or assignments. Supports Physicians at satellite offices as needed.
  2. Trains new employees. Ensures competency onboarding lists are completed in a timely manner. Coordinates, communicates and schedules aspects of training and requirements for Senior Medical Assistances. Supports the department needs with training and serves as a preceptor. Supports the annual department Education Fair. Identifies staff skill gaps and provides appropriate training.
  3. Monitors patient care from check-in to check-out. Ensures patient service standards are being met by all staff. Ensures a resolution to any immediate problem or situation that occurs with patient appointments. Follows-up with department leadership team if an on-going issue is identified. Serves as a liaison between all areas of the Clinic. Notifies patients and staff of delays in provider services.
  4. Supports disciplinary actions and staff development reviews. Provides staff performance data and feedback. Performs audits to provide to department leadership for performance reviews. Serves as catalyst for change management and performance improvements. Contributes to disciplinary and employee performance meetings as needed.
  5. Establishes standard processes and procedures to standardize function and services between various Clinics. Models department and company policies through daily activities and expectations. Upholds standards among staff.
  6. Assists with all employee timecard reviews and approvals. Reviews and approves time off request based on Clinic volume and capacity. Enforces established scheduling needs. Adjusts timecards as needed. Monitors overtime. Assists department leadership with data collection to support staffing models and FTE requests.
  7. Oversees the daily cleaning and stocking of Clinics. Maintains stocking checklists.
  8. Coordinates with Clinic Managers to input and complete incident reports and RL6 files.
  9. Participates in evaluation of job candidates and interview process.
  10. Completes other duties as assigned. Continues professional development actives to stay abreast of current practices and processes. Assists with ancillary areas as needed including but not limited to; Cast Room, Imaging Services or in other capacities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Specialty training beyond high school required
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in a clinic or medical office environment required
  • 1 year of experience in OrthoIndy Clinic environment required
  • Medical Assistant certification Preferred OR Registered Medical Assistant Preferred
  • CPR certification Required
